I have had an ongoing issue on my laptop for a class where when I try to launch Modelsim using a test bench written in Quartus, I have been having several issues.
Originally, the program was unable to open Modelsim at all and my test bench was completely useless. I have since uninstalled both Quartus and Modelsim and now have been trying time and again to get my code to open up in the simulation. While Modelsim will now open, the waveform window remains completely empty of all signals or waves. I have been trying to think about the issues I may have encountered with this, including my test bench being incorrectly coded. However, I have sent the same test bench to a classmate and it ran correctly on his laptop, yet mine still has the same issue. Another problem I think may have occurred was that I had written the test bench in an earlier version of Quartus, however I would think that older files would still obviously be compatible with newer software, especially involving code. Another potential issue I may have had would be that I did not save the files into the Altera folder that is created when you install the software, but instead into a folder in my documents where I have saved all other files pertaining to this class in order to keep things organized.
If anyone has encountered similar issues and found a solution, or if they have a suggestion, please let me know so I may try to correct this problem.
