All,
I am encountering two issues that are preventing me from using licensed IP within Quartus.
1) Whenever I add a license file (.dat) for an IP core, Quartus always "forgets" it whenever I restart the program.
2) The license files are not enabling the IP as they should. The Quartus License Manager clearly opens and parses it since it is albe ot list the Vendor, Product, and Version information on the GUI, but whenever I attempt to run a simulation or any sort of synthesis I see errors along the lines of: "Can't open encrypted VHDL or Verilog HDL file "[$PATH/*].vhd" -- current license file does not contain a valid license for encrypted file".
Perhaps these issues are related. My setup for reference:
OS: Ubuntu 13.10
Quartus: 13.1 Web Edition, Cyclone IV/V targets, ModelSim-Altera
License expiration: April 20, 2014
My computer has two NICs/MAC addresses -- does the IP license need to be made for a certain one or will either work? Please let me know if there is any additional information that I can provide. Thanks!
Matt
